Michelle Saba, Account Director, Praxis

  • To Michelle, food is fascinating and inspiring and has taken her on an exciting journey from behind the pen to behind the camera. After first graduating with an Honours B.A. from the University of Guelph, she then completed the Post-Graduate Journalism Program at Humber College, where her passion for food naturally married with her joy of writing. Her first freelance stories included an interview with Carlo Rota (The Great Canadian Food Show) and high-profile food events like the Santé Wine Festival and the Gourmet Food & Wine Show. Michelle then put down the pen to pursue a dream of working on various Food Network Canada programs including Cook with Me, Superstar Chef Challenge and three seasons of Christine Cushing Live. Her TV career then intertwined with public relations as she became Chef Christine Cushing’s publicist and assisted her in launching her Pure by Christine Cushing product line, while also managing media relations for the shows she worked on.

To increase her knowledge and expertise, she freelanced and assisted small business food clients with their PR needs. Her next step was working at Faye Clack Communications with clients ranging from commodities, restaurants and consumer packaged goods, where Michelle put her PR skills to the test earning her clients the media spotlight. Work on a USA Rice Foodservice Education Guide and Curriculum earned her the 2007 IACP (International Association of Culinary Professionals) Award of Excellence in the Consumer Educational and Communication Materials category.

Next, Michelle landed a role at Loblaw Companies Limited, working closely with the iconic President’s Choice brand. Achieving her goal of getting ‘behind the scenes’ of the PC test kitchen was thrilling for this consummate foodie. As she continues on her career path, she looks forward to savouring every morsel along the way.
